CHSM is currently seeking community-minded individuals interested in joining our Board of Directors. Current and anticipated openings include:

  • President — term beginning 2027
  • Treasurer — term beginning 2027
  • Directors-at-Large — immediate and 2027 opportunities available

Board service is a meaningful way to support local history while helping guide the future of a community-based nonprofit organization. You do not need to be a historian to serve. CHSM welcomes people with a variety of professional backgrounds, community connections, skills, and interests.

Board members may contribute to museum collections, historic preservation, programs and events, education, fundraising and grants, communications, facilities, volunteer engagement, community partnerships, and organizational leadership.


Committees
CHSM’s committees help carry out the ongoing work of the Society and Museum. Board members and other volunteers may participate in committee activities and projects.

Collections
Chair: Carla Mink
Supports the care, documentation, preservation, and management of CHSM’s collections and historic materials.

Operations
Chair: Maggie Constantino
Supports museum operations, volunteer coordination, programs, events, visitor activities, and other day-to-day organizational needs.

Facilities
Chair: Recruiting for Candidates
Supports the care, maintenance, preservation, and improvement of the Little White Schoolhouse and other properties under CHSM’s stewardship.

Development
Chair: Recruiting for Candidates
Supports fundraising, grants, memberships, sponsorships, donor engagement, and other activities that strengthen CHSM’s financial sustainability.
